Hello, I'm Lisa Mulvihill
I am a specialist occupational therapist and I am neurodivergent (Autistic and ADHD). I am the founder of Blackbird Occupational Therapy.
With over 18 years of post qualification experience, I offer a unique perspective of advanced clinical skills, knowledge and expertise complemented by my own lived experience of neurodivergence.

In my clinical work I facilitate neurodivergent adults to learn about their neurotype and how best to support themselves so that they can live lives that are meaningful and satisfying to them.

Testimonials
I completed a dyspraxia assessment and a sensory profile assessment with Lisa. From the first consultation she was extremely kind and caring, and she took this neuro-affirmative approach right the way through the process. The follow up was equally terrific. Lisa took care to answer all my questions and guided me through the reports so thoroughly. She showed great care, and positivity. I couldn’t recommend her enough!"

(AuDHD adult, Assessment).
I am a female, late-diagnosed autistic. I had my first appointment with Lisa last year. I arrived with all my fears about returning to the workplace (following a prolonged absence) and unsure if OT was right for me. From the start, I knew I was in a safe and trustworthy place. Lisa embodies empathy, affirmation and professionalism. With sensitive and gentle challenging, she has helped me understand and reframe some of the internalised limiting patterns and judgements I have been carrying around for a long time. Lisa's clarity on her own boundaries has helped me establish my own, and over the sessions I have found a new sense of strength coming through in how I hold my own space. Working with Lisa has been so meaningful for me as I continue to learn about and appreciate my autistic way of being."

(Autistic adult, Occupational Therapy Support).
I booked a consultation with Lisa shortly after receiving my diagnoses of autism and ADHD. As a doctor working in the Irish health service, meeting with another health professional who not only has clinical expertise in neurodivergence but who also really “gets it” was so valuable and refreshing. Lisa is extremely knowledgeable in relation to the research and evidence base around neurodivergence and I came away with so many strategies, ideas and supports that I can implement for myself. Lisa followed up with an email with so many resources which I will be able to utilise over the next few months. In addition to the practical support I received, I also really enjoyed meeting with Lisa, she is so genuine and warm and has a great sense of humour, I laughed and cried during the consultation and felt so validated and seen, thank you Lisa!"
